Dish Network Feature Pack HD DVR ViP 722 with Unlimited Storage Free

deal dish network vip722k vip722 Dish network has released its new ViP 722 HD DVR with most coveted feature; support for external hard drive. All the features are available in the previous ViP 622 HD DVR also now. ViP 622 was upgraded automatically in nightly software update. ViP 622 and ViP 722 are pretty much same except recording time. I have ViP 622 HD DVR. You can now archive and playback from the external hard drive and have virtually unlimited recording space. You will be allowed to shared the drive between receivers in later release.

This is the best free HD DVR available in the market now. Cable operators do offer free HD DVRs but are piece of junk. I have tried Motorola 6412 box from Comcast. DIRECTV has decent HD DVR but it’s not free. DIRECTV charges $200 for their HD DVR and you don’t own the equipment. Feature wise also it lacks from the Dish HD DVR. TiVo is the best but only if you can afford it, and if you want DIRECTV or Dish (like me) you are out of luck (HD TiVo only supports cable customers). I tried TiVo series 2 and everything was great except one problem, I had to program remote to skip commercial by using some hack code from the Internet. I am not sure about the new HD TiVo.

If you are a current Dish Network customer, call the customer service and ask for the upgrade. If they ask for the upgrade fee ask them to cancel service( only if you are out of contract), they will transfer you to cancellation/account retention department. Account retention department people have authority to do pretty much anything. Depends on your whining/bitching you may receive some additional free programming or credit also.

Cheaply and Wirelessly connect TiVo / Slingbox / Xbox 360 / PS3 (20 GB)

First of all, if you have a wireless setup in your home and have WEP security or have no security, please change it to WPA-PSK or best WPA2. There should be at least an option for the WPA-PSK if not WPA2 in your wireless router. The technical terms may look daunting but basically from the users perspective it’s just selecting setting WPA-PSK/WPA2 instead of WEP but behind the schene your wireless data is much secure. Also do change the default admin password of your router.
Now to wirelessly connect your TiVo/SlingBox/Xbox 360/PS3 (20GB) to Internet just buy a wireless bridge instead of buying individual adapter. Wireless brige has ethernet port/ports which you will use to connect you TiVo/SlingBox/Xbox 360/PS3 (20GB) and bridge itself will connect it to your wireless connection like wireless adapter. You know just to connect TiVo it will cost $37.41 using TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter for Series2 DVR (AG0100) or it will cost $88.99 to connect your Xbox 360 using Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter. The wireless bridge I am recommending is cheaper, better and would able to connect 1-4 devices using your ethernet connection. I use ZyXEL P-330W which can be used as a router/bridge and it supports WPA2, highest available security for wireless connection. You can connect upto 4 devices wirelessly with this device. Also you have to do the setup only once instead of buying multiple adapter and setting up each device. Setup is very simple and similar to standalone adapter setup. Now why I am recommending this device while you can buy other available wireless bridges like Linksys. Other bridges are expensive and even some require hacks and ZyXEL P-330W which I use already and is on sell. It’s selling for $12.99 or $2.99 if you use Google Checkout as a new customer. In fact it’s way cheaper than I paid for the device originally.
Don’t misled by it’s title, you can use ZyXEL P-33 as a router or a bridge.

If you don’t have wireless setup in your home or your router doesn’t support WPA-PSK/WPA2 security buy two of these. One use as a router and connect it to your DSL/Cable Modem, and other one use as a wireless bridge and hook up you TiVo/SlingBox/Xbox 360/PS3 (20GB) etc.

Blockbuster Total Access™ is the best deal if you like going to the Blockbuster store and would like a free game rental per month. I am current subscriber of Blockbuster Total Access™. My online queue is filled with relatively old movies or old movies which are usually in stock and so it get shipped faster. Blockbuster got better in shipping, I usually get movie next day. I always rent new movies at store in free exchange offer so I don’t have to wait for new movies. I keep the game for a month a pay $1.25 restocking fee as there is no late fee. Blockbuster is not suitable for you if you are not near to Blockbuster store and want new movie faster from the online queue.

Netflix.com offers largest collections of DVDs. Netflix has also very good collection of foreign movies. Netflix also allows you to watch movies online. Currently Netflix has around 1000 movies collection online. Netflix shipping is fastest so far among all DVDs rental companies.

Netflix is the best option if you don’t like going to store. Also Netflix is good if you like to watch movie online.

Intelliflix differentiate from Blockbuster and Netflix by renting Mature movies and Games. Intelliflix is also cheapest among all online DVD rentals companies.

Intelliflix is the best option if you don’t care for fast delivery and like to rent Mature movies and Games. Also again this is the cheapest. Currently Intelliflix is offering $10 off.

I tried both service. Personally I like BLOCKBUSTER because they offered in free store coupons. Also BLOCKBUSTER is near to my work place and home. Now with their Total Access program it is wonderful.
