Comcast is offering $125 rebate for signing up Comcast High Speed Internet for $19.99/mo and additional $100 rebate if you sign up Comcast Digital Cable for $39.99/mo. You will get $225 cash back overall.
Also with cash back you will receive free cable modem and free router, so no need to rent the cable modem from Comcast.
Comcast has Digital Voice offer also.
But $39 is a bit expensive for VOIP service. I will prefer BellSouth( new AT&T or your local service) for few more bucks. I would recommend Vonage/AT&T CallVantage if you need VOIP service, without any hassle just $25/mo.
How to avoid the professional installation fee for high speed internet, if you don’t have Comcast cable and just want high speed Internet?
Even though I have Dish Network I ordered Comcast Cable. This way I got free installation for cable and I could install high speed internet myself (it’s pretty easy)without any installation fee.
Now also remember there is $20 additional fee for non Comcast cable customer, so after I got Comcast High Speed Internet instead of disconnecting cable I downgraded my service to basic only. Basic service would cost me $15 and this way I will save $5 and I will have back up local channels. Overall I would pay $35 instead of $20 for high speed Internet only, but still it is way better High Speed Internet and cheaper than my previous BellSouth DSL service. If you downgrade the service you may not get additional $100 rebate, but this is up to you, you want to wait till you get all the rebates(additonal $100) and then downgrade the cable service or downgrade service immediately.
If you have non VOIP phone line and you are a Dish Network/DirecTV customer, I think DSL is the best option for you.
