Like many Americans I am mad, but I totally agree that Government will have to do something to clean up this mess. But I want
- Take all the greedy American Corporations CEO big payouts during boom years including the Treasury Secretary Paulson’s
- I am not accountant but there should be change in some accounting, so this profit doesn’t show up till it profit is materialized
- Take ownership in the firm
- Any securities should be bought for pennies like private equities firms would pay, may be little more so taxpayer has good probability of getting money back or more.If I am not mistaken Fed Chairman Mr. Ben Bernanke wants to pay face value of bonds — why don’t he hands out the $700 billion as a charity to big corporation.
- I like the idea of free up the 401k/457 plans money so people can buy the home. I would buy home if this happens.
Whatever happens this event is really embarrassing for us, and I hope everyone learn the lesson from this event.

I remember vividly when I lost most of my money in dot-com bubble burst. Since then I am very careful with my spending. I am still renting because I couldn’t afford the 30 years fixed mortgage. My investment is in diversified fund. Had government bailed me out, would I be same like now? Same way people who saw depression live frugally and invest money wisely.
So what government is teaching us lesson now by bailing out Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and AIG?
- To Corporation : You lend money to any Tom, Dick and Harry and get big bonuses and when you fail government will bail you out.
- To Individual: Buy the home you can’t afford with no income proof and when you won’t able to pay government will bail you out.
This is capitalism?
Anyway I haven’t lost faith in our system yet but our system need a bitter pill. In mean while I moving my money from money market to index funds.

I sold my 50% of my porfolio last year when I first heard the word subprime, later 50% in January first week of this year. Since last year all my new money from 401 plan and other investment were going in money market. But after today I am putting my new money in stock market and started putting some of my money from money market to stock funds.
What do you think?

I would like apple TV to have:
- Blu-ray disc player
- I don’t care for ATSC/QAM or any other tuner, but Apple TV should have hdmi input and should able to control my DVR/Receiver like sling box.
- Apple TV should able to record in H.264 format for iPhone/ipod and stream the content over wi-fi network and over the Internet on iPhone so no need for sling box.
- Apple TV should be main computer holding all my libraries of Videos/Songs not the other way around and work like a NAS server.
- Full Safari browser and support for (optional) keyboard.
- Various new and improved options for Internet video.
- Support for using the iPhone or the iPod touch as smart remotes
Later on in Apple TV 4.0 may be if they can add on Gaming capabilities and DVR for both cable and dish they will be nirvana. Just one small piece in my entertainment and one 60″ LCD TV.
For now I want live TV on iPhone 3g.

Do you know few minutes of your phone call can save you hundreds of dollars?
Since how long you have cable, DSL, phone line and other utilities and paying bill every month without realizing you could pay less.
e.g. If you have cable service like Comcast call them to cancel the service. Tell them reason for canceling service because you are getting better offer from DISH. You will be surprised savings you would receive. It is possible some reps are in bad mood and would cancel service without asking any reason. So be on safe side schedule service cancellation for the future date so you have option to keep the service.
Now for phone service call them you are switching to Vonage or any other VOIP provider.
Same for DSL tell them you are switching to Cable broadband or vice versa.
You can do that for credit cards also they will give you free miles etc.
Check your saving and repeat this every few months. Happy Savings!!!
